Brief:
Diane Rodriguez-Kiino is a positive force for the greater good. Her list of accomplishments is long including 12 years as an Assistant and Associate Professor within the Graduate School of Education at California Lutheran University, 13 years as a Senior Researcher at the Research and Planning Group for California Community Colleges, as well as being a Fulbright Scholar. If you’ve ever crossed paths with Diane, you are left feeling like you’ve known her your whole life.

During the early days of the pandemic and lockdown, Diane approached OMM to develop a logo for her new side project; a seasonal pop-up bakery whose proceeds would benefit HouseN2Home, a Washtenaw County, Michigan organization that “creates spaces for people, transitioning from homelessness, to thrive in.”

Solution:
The name Orange Door Boulangerie’s inspiration came from Diane and her family’s beautiful home and how recognizable their bright orange door is from the street. It’s quite iconic and was perfect for her new venture since the baking was intended to be done from their kitchen.

From this, a logo “stamp” was created to instill a sense of warmth and convey a feeling of experience from its weathered treatment. The inclusion of a rolling pin and spoon helped quickly convey the DIY nature of her delicious creations.
